Spin and String Wooden Bead Spinner
This Beadsmith wooden bead spinner is a tool commonly used in jewellery making and beadwork to speed up the process of stringing beads. To use a bead spinner, pour a quantity of beads into the spinning bowl. The central rod is then inserted into the bowl, and the beads are allowed to settle around it. Holding the rod, spin the bowl rapidly in a circular motion.
As the bowl spins, the centrifugal force generated causes the beads to move along the walls of the bowl, slide onto the central rod, and align themselves with the hole of the beads facing upward. This makes it much easier to pick up the beads with a needle or stringing material, as they are already oriented correctly.
Bead spinners are particularly useful when working with small beads, such as seed beads, which can be time-consuming to string individually. By using a bead spinner, you can quickly load multiple beads onto your stringing material, saving time and effort.
