What Are Serinity Pearls?

Serinity Pearls imitate the appearance of cultivated pearls and have a crystal ball core with a silky-smooth coating around the outside. The nacre coating can come in various colours, such as the classic white, cream and Creamrose, as well as more adventurous colours that reach beyond what is naturally available with organic pearls.

Serinity pearls often come pre-drilled, and the range includes the following variations:

  • Fully Drilled pearls contain a drilled hole that passes all the way through the pearl, meaning multiple pearls can be threaded together on a strand like a necklace.
  • Half Drilled Round Pearls possess a drilled hole that only reaches the centre and then stops. This type of pearl lends itself to being glued onto the end of headpins where the pearl then sits neatly on the end, this is often seen on dangly earrings.
  • Half Drilled Pearls can also be flatback in shape and these are referred to as Half Drilled Cabochons. This type of pearl is held in place with glue and is often seen on buttons.
  • No Hole means the pearl has not been drilled and will be well suited to a jewellery setting.

Serinity offers a Baroque selection of pearls that boast deliberately irregular, undulating, and asymmetrical silhouettes. These unconventional options allow for a wider range of creative options when designing pearl elements and add a bohemian quality to any piece they are added to.

Types of Serinity Pearls

Baroque Coin Pearls

Serinity Baroque Coin Pearls (5842) are distinct from the conventional round or oval pearls in that they possess an asymmetrical shape. These fully drilled pearls are disc like in general shape and boast an undulating irregularity on their surface. This ripple of shine adds extra detail and makes them highly coveted in the realm of jewellery-making,

Baroque Drop Pearls

Serinity pearls Baroque Drop (5843) have a crystal ball core with a smooth nacre coating, giving them the appearance of cultivated pearls, however, the Serinity Baroque Drop shaped pearls are distinct from the conventional smooth drop pearls because they are asymmetrical. Their atypical shape can lend an air of sophistication and distinction to jewellery pieces.

Baroque Elongated Pearls

Serinity pearls Baroque Elongated (5844) are like the Baroque Drop in their undulating teardrop like shape, however the elongated version has a longer narrow end, giving the pearl an overall thinner appearance.

Baroque Round Pearls

Serinity pearls Baroque Round (5841) are fully drilled crystal pearls with a nacre coating, however they vary from the classic round pearls because they possess an irregular and asymmetrical shape which means the nacre coating shines unusually in the light, adding an extra dimension of detail to any jewellery piece they are used in.

Fully Drilled Round Pearls

Serinity round pearls (5810) are the most popular type of artificial pearl which is made using a unique pearl coating that is applied to a crystal core. These are considered the classic type of pearl because they form a perfect symmetrical sphere and are often used in necklaces, earrings, and other high-end pieces that are designed to showcase their beauty.

Half Drilled Cabochon Pearls

Serinity half-drilled Cabochon pearls feature a flat base and a curved top with a cabochon design, accompanied by a hole that is drilled halfway through the pearl. The half-drilled hole provides the option of attaching pegs or posts, which enables easy and secure placement on a variety of jewellery pieces and for use as button decoration.

Half Drilled Round Pearls

Serinity Round Half Drilled pearls (5818) are designed with a thread hole that is partially drilled to a centre point rather than passing through the entire pearl. This unique design allows for easy attachment to a finding, such as an ear stud or jewellery wire, using glue to secure it in place. This makes half drilled pearls a popular choice for creating stud earrings and tiaras, as the fitting can be easily concealed within the pearl.

Rice Pearls

The Serinity Rice pearl (5824) is a fully drilled glass pearl that boasts a distinctive rice-shaped design. The pearl is created by coating a unique crystal core with a lustrous, pearl-like finish that imbues it with a captivating iridescence and the elongated oval shape offers a sleeker chain of pearls than the fully round option.

Round Pearls With No Hole

Serinity pearls Round No Hole (5809) are small round glass pearls that lack a traditional thread hole, rendering them unsuitable for stringing into a necklace or bracelet. Rather, these pearls are typically affixed onto a garment or set into a jewellery piece using an adhesive or the prongs of a jewellery setting. This type of pearl is also good if you want the pearls to be loose and with no visible hole.
